Ridgewood Crew introduces Ridgewood, NJ high school-aged youth to the traditions, athleticism, sportsmanship, techniques and camaraderie of the sport of rowing.
Founded in 2004, Ridgewood Crew focuses specifically on sculling. The team rows on the Passaic River in northern NJ and competes in the sport’s premier regattas held throughout the Northeast.
In 2008, Ridgewood Crew set many club milestones. The team of 64 rowers posted the club's highest medals count to date. Highlights included: The women's varsity quad earned the team's first SRAA Nationals Medal - a bronze, as well as a bronze at Philadelphia City Championships. Additionally, the men's JV-A quad won gold at Mercer Lake Sprints, where the men's and women's novice boats also brought home multiple bronze and silver medals. And, the team's overall performance continued to attract unprecedented interest from top rowing colleges and universities including: Bucknell, Boston University, Drexel, Duke, Georgetown, George Mason, Harvard, Holy Cross, Lehigh, Syracuse, Williams and others.
