Ridgewood Crew Learn-to-Row
Summer / Fall 2025
Who: Ridgewood school students in 7th-12th grade in Fall 2025 who are interested in the rowing are invited to attend one of our Learn-to-Row (LTR) sessions this summer/fall following successful completion of a swim test. This is a beginner opportunity to try out the sport of rowing and learn what the team is all about!
When: Please fill out all of the requested information to register your daughter/son for one of the following small group Learn-to-Row (LTR) sessions. These sessions are strictly limited to 8 athletes each. Athletes must attend all days in the selected session, for a total of 8 hours. The following sessions are still available with dryland safety and technique on Friday and water practice on Saturday/Sunday.
LTR 1: June 20 - 22 (Friday time TBD, Saturday/Sunday 8 - 11am)
LTR 2: June 27 - 29(Friday time TBD Saturday/Sunday 8 - 11am)
LTR 3: July 5 - 6 (Saturday/Sunday 8 - noon)
LTR 4: July 11-13 (Friday time TBD, Saturday/Sunday 8 - 11am)
LTR 5: July 18 - 20 (Friday time TBD, Saturday/Sunday 8 - 11am)
LTR 6: Sept 5 - 7 (Saturday/Sunday noon - 4pm)
LTR 7: Sept 12 - 14 (Saturday/Sunday noon - 4pm)
All potential rowers must pass a swim test prior to the LTR Session (dates below). Please email [email protected] if you would like to be placed on a waiting list for a closed LTR session.
Where: The dryland sessions will be conducted a TBD Location The water sessions will be conducted at the Bergen County Rowing Center (BCRC), 797 Riverside Ave, Lyndhurst, NJ 07071.
Fee: $300/session

Any rower who has completed a summer LTR session, can optionally continue practicing with us this summer in the 6-session ($200) Novice program, three days a week beginning July 22 through Aug 1 on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday from 5 - 7:30pm.
Any rower who has completed any LTR session can optionally continue practicing with us this fall. Details will be provided in early August, but generally are weekends for Middle School during Sept and October. Weekdays and Weekends for High School during September and October.
All potential rowers must pass a swim test and submit the swim test form to [email protected] and the original should be mailed to mailed to PO Box 1339, 143 E. Ridgewood Avenue, Ridgewood, 07451. The swim test form can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/ridgewoodcrewswimtest This swim test can be administered by the Wyckoff YMCA or any certified lifeguard.
